Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners wins at the 2019 TopLegal Awards

Rome, November 22, 2019 - The international law firm Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners was a multi-winner at the Rome TopLegal Awards 2019, the annual event that recognizes and celebrates top professionals in the legal sector.

During the evening, Elisabetta Gardini was awarded in “Environment” and Paolo Iemma in “Regulations”. The Firm also won “Law Firm of the Year” in the category “Current Legal Topic: Privacy” 

In awarding these prizes the jury, composed of General Counsel and Heads of Corporate and Legal Affairs of leading companies and banks, stated the following:
  • Elisabetta GardiniLawyer of the Year – Environment: “She assisted ArcelorMittal in all environmental issues inherent to the acquisition of the Ilva Group. A mammoth operation in which experts earned the merit of creating legal standards where there were none.”
     
  • Paolo IemmaLawyer of the Year – Regulations: “The jury evaluated two transactions relevant to the market. The transfer, from  Bancoposta Fondi to Anima Sgr, of a branch of the insurance company worth over 70 billion euro; assistance to BNL in its partnership agreements with Telepass.
     
  • Law Firm of the Year - Current Legal Topic: Privacy: “The firm’s assistance to Auditel in the complex adaptation of its audience measurement activity to the Gdpr laws caught the attention of the panel. The deal stands out for the size and delicacy of the data processed and required the involvement of the Dpo of all the national TV channels as well as the Italian Data protection Authority."
     
The work of all the nominated firms was evaluated by a technical jury - composed of General Counsel and Heads of Corporate and Legal Affairs of leading companies and banks.
