Patents and know-how

Gianni & Origoni

We have a specialist team of lawyers who work exclusively on patent law, capable of advising on a full range of matters concerning protection and exploitation of patents and know-how, as well as relevant patent litigation.

Our practical understanding of specific industries and businesses – such as pharmaceutical, chemical, electronics, communications, e-commerce – enables us to offer advice which is specialized and tailored for each business.

We frequently work collaboratively with highly skilled engineers to define patenting strategies and in order to prepare and file patent applications, handle the proceedings leading to a grant, and to represent opposition claims.

In particular, we have wide and strong experience in planning and managing patent litigation in Italy and in Europe.

Our services include:
- Advice on patentability and patenting strategies;
- Preparing opinions on patent infringement cases;
- Legal assistance in precautionary measures as well as ordinary proceedings on validity and infringement claims
- Co-ordination and managing of pan-European patent litigation.
