Richard Grams
Counsel

Richard is Counsel at Gianni & Origoni’s Hong Kong office and has been working in China and Hong Kong since 1988. He is admitted to practice in Hong Kong and England & Wales and previously licensed to practice in China as a Registered Foreign Lawyer.

Originally trained as a corporate and M&A lawyer in Hong Kong, he has extensive experience advising clients on both sides of the HK-mainland China border. Richard is the go-to specialist sought by stakeholders for commercialization of technology and co-founder/shareholder disputes. He also advises galleries, collectors, artists and foundations on legal issues relating to the exhibition, sale and valuation of art work.

Richard is a regular speaker and contributor of articles on a range of legal topics such as the digital transformation of legal and financial services, cryptocurrency and Art Law. 

Before joining Gianni & Origoni, Richard practiced laws as a partner at several leading international law firms in China and Hong Kong.

He speaks English and Mandarin Chinese.
