Vincenzo De Luca joined the diplomatic career in 1989 and was Ambassador of Italy to India and Nepal from 2019 to 2024.
He held various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in diplomatic missions in Khartoum, Tunis, Paris (where he took up duties as Permanent Representation to the OECD) and Shanghai. He has a distinguished career spanning both the public and private sectors, with a deep focus on the internationalization of the global economic system. His professional journey includes serving in central offices, acting as a Diplomatic Advisor to the Ministries of Industry, Transport and Economic Development, and working in large companies, where he served as Vice President for International Institutional Relations.
He was Director General for the Country Promotion, after serving in the same Directorate-General as Deputy Director General and Central Director for the internationalisation of the Country System and local authorities.
He played a major role in the organisation of EXPO Milano 2015 as President of the Foreign Ministry Task Force, also drawing on his previous experience as Consul General in Shanghai.
Vincenzo graduated in Political Science from the University of Naples L'Orientale in 1988.
He speaks Italian, English, French and Spanish.
