Gestione collettiva del diritto d'autore

October 21, 2025

Technological development continues to transform the way creative work is produced, distributed and monetised, and artificial intelligence systems are accelerating this process.

This change has exacerbated the long-standing tensions between authors, artists, rights users, and collecting societies. Against this backdrop, the European Parliament and the Council introduced Directive (EU) 2019/790, to strike a balance between these parties, by introducing important innovations in terms of fair remuneration, representativeness and contractual transparency.
The transposition process in Italy was completed in May 2024 with the adoption of the  AGCOM Implementing Regulation.

Just over a year after the new rules were implemented, we ask ourselves what has worked and what critical issues persist in the relationships between those in the sector.
