Eviana Leung leads the litigation practice in our associated office in Hong Kong, Eviana Leung & Partners, specialising in litigation and arbitration, including commercial litigation, arbitration, marine, logistics, transport and insurance disputes.
With her strong Chinese language skills and broad exposure to the Chinese market, Eviana focuses on cross border practice and often acts for Mainland, foreign and local corporations and private clients. She focuses on China practice and mainly advises on liquidation, re-structuring, listed company internal and regulatory investigation, shareholders' disputes, trade conflicts, recovery of high value debts, arbitration, injunction, enforcement and other judicial procedural matters.
As an experienced litigator, Eviana has both contentious and non-contentious exposures which cover a wide spectrum over cross border and international trade disputes, company liquidation and individual bankruptcy, corporate re-structuring and scheme of arrangement, company matters, shareholders disputes, breach of directors' duties, corporate internal, forensic and regulatory investigation, marine cases, insurance, regulatory and enforcement prosecutions (including the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), Hong Kong Exchange (HKEx), police (HKPF), Independent Commissioner of Anti-Corruption (ICAC), Customs & Excise Department, Labour Department, Fire Services Department, Environmental Protection Department etc.)
Prior to joining our Firm, Eviana has worked in various international law firms in Hong Kong, during which nearly half of her legal career as a litigation partner.
She graduated in Law with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from King's College London in 2005 and obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) from the City University of Hong Kong in 2006.
Since 2008, Eviana is admitted as a Solicitor in the High Court of Hong Kong (HKSAR). She is appointed by the Ministry of Justice in China as a China-Appointed Attesting Officer, often handling China Attestation matters. She is also an Accredited Mediator on the HKMAAL general panel, the HKIAC general panel and the Shenzhen Zhengxin Civil and Commercial Mediation Center.
In addition to her commitment to the legal practice, Eviana is holding public offices in government and professional committees.
She speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
