Marta Valentini specializes in white collar criminal law, with a particular focus on economic crimes (corporate, financial, bankruptcy, banking and tax) as well as crimes against the public administration, property and public safety. She has also gained significant experience in the areas of criminal liability in environmental matters, health and safety at work, anti-money laundering, personal data protection, cybercrime and defamation.
She assists entrepreneurs, managers and companies in high-profile criminal proceedings and in out-of-court consultancy activities, with specific expertise in the field of corporate criminal liability, pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/2001. She supports companies in the design and updating of organizational, management and control models (known as “Modelli 231”).
She holds positions as chairperson and member of Supervisory Bodies pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/2001 in leading companies in Italy and internationally.
She also specialises in compliance and integrated management and control systems, speak-up procedures (i.e. whistleblowing), defensive investigations in criminal proceedings and internal investigations in accordance with ISO 37008 and industry best practices, as well as legal issues related to the use of new technologies and artificial intelligence systems, ESG issues and sports justice and compliance.
She graduated summa cum laude with special honours from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome. She subsequently obtained a Level II Master's Degree in Corporate Criminal Law from the same university.
She is a lecturer at LUISS Guido Carli and a subject expert at the University of Tuscia.
She is the author of scientific articles published in journals and books on criminal law, risk management and compliance.
She is a member of the Association Internationale de Droit Pénal (AIDP) and AODV231.
She is registered with the Italian Bar Association.
She speaks Italian and English.
