Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners appoints 11 new partners

Rome, January 17 2017 – Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners international law firm has announced the appointment of 11 new partners: Francesco Bruno, Massimiliano Calabrò, Stefano Cunico, Elisabetta Gardini, Biagio Giliberti, Marco Martinelli, Matteo Padellaro, Dario Pozzi, Magda Serriello, Gianfranco Toscano e Vittorio Zucchelli.

Francesco Bruno, 38, a member of the Energy and Infrastructure department, focuses on private and public M&A transactions - in particular in public and private mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures - as well as construction, development, acquisition and sale of power plants, malls, yachts and infrastructure projects.

Massimiliano Calabrò, 36, a member of the Corporate/M&A department, specialises in M&A, corporate and restructuring transactions with a primary focus on the private equity sector. He joined the firm in 2003 and gained valuable US experience working for the Global Corporate Group of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in New York) also obtaining an LL.M in Corporate Governance & Practice from the Stanford Law School University.

Stefano Cunico, 38, a member of the Energy and Infrastructure department, focuses on the energy and construction sector, assisting national and overseas Companies as well as Public Authorities with specific regard to public procedures for the authorization of energy infrastructures, zoning and building matters both in the contentious and non-contentious contexts. Stefano also advises on Administrative Law issues arising from M&A transactions.

Elisabetta Gardini, 39, a member of Environmental Law practice, has developed extensive experience in the environmental and energy law sectors. She assists clients with respect to environmental law issues and in particular waste management, remediation of contaminated sites and on the implementation of the Emission Trading directive.  Elisabetta has also provided assistance within civil and criminal proceedings on environmental damage liability and before Administrative regional courts within proceedings on energy and gas issues. She has been involved in several energy projects involving renewable energy sources both at the due diligence stage and administrative litigation issues and has worked on the incentives regimes for the different energy sources (solar, the green certificates and the CIP 6/92).

Biagio Giliberti, 41, a member of the Administrative Law and Tenders department, specializes in administrative law and is active in both the judicial and extra-judicial aspects of his field. He assists public, private and listed companies involved in various sectors, such as the generation and distribution of electricity and other energy provision (both traditional and renewable), public tenders, procurement contracts and public services, city planning and real estate.

Marco Martinelli, 41, a member of the Administrative Law and Tenders department, specialises in administrative law with particular focus on tenders for public works, supplies and services, with expertise in both litigation and non-contentious services. Marco evaluates the judicial-public aspects in M&A deals, in privatization procedures of public companies and in the disinvestment of public assets. Marco  is a Professor in Administrative Law at the University “La Sapienza” of Rome.

 

Matteo Padellaro, 40, a member of the Antitrust and Regulatory department, has a significant experience in the various fields of Competition Law (including state aids and the national regulation on the abuse of economic dependence). He represented clients in several proceedings before the Italian antitrust Authority and the European Commission, as well as before the national and the E.C. Courts. Its practice includes E.C. Procurement Law and International Commercial Arbitration. He obtained a Ph.D. in “Market and Consumer” from the University of Rome “Roma Tre” and an LL.M. in International Business Law from the King’s College of London.

 

Dario Pozzi, 43, a member of the Corporate/M&A department, specializes in private M&A, corporate and commercial law, joint ventures and extraordinary corporate transactions. Dario advises domestic and multinational companies in M&A transactions, drafting and negotiating acquisition agreements, joint venture agreements, shareholders’ agreements and commercial agreements, ranging across a wide number of industries, including railway and air transportation, automotive, banking-financial and real estate, as well as in ordinary corporate matters.

Magda Serriello, 39, a member of the Energy and Infrastructure department, specialises in project financing and advises financing institutions and sponsors in project financing and general contract transactions mainly dealing with financing and commercial aspects. She advises several companies operating in the infrastructure, energy and natural resources sectors with respect to corporate aspects, M&A and financing transactions and commercial contracts.

Gianfranco Toscano, 43, a member of the Administrative Law and Tenders department, has developed considerable expertise in administrative law with a special focus on zoning and building matters as well as in contract law in the real estate sector (including lease agreements and turn key contracts), advising on regulations concerning zoning, building and permitting procedures, cross border and domestic transactions and joint venture operations for the development of real estate projects.

Vittorio Zucchelli, 49, a member of the Tax department, specialises in tax matters relating to domestic and international M&A transactions as well as transfer pricing and supply chain restructurings. He advises large domestic companies with reference to their Italian and foreign tax matters. Vittorio has also gained experience in assisting private clients on inheritance and estate planning matters.
