Gianni & Origoni relocates to new offices in Shanghai

November 17, 2025

Shanghai, 17 November 2025 – International law firm Gianni & Origoni has relocated to new offices in Shanghai, marking another milestone in the consolidation of its presence in China and in its positioning as a key interlocutor for investments between China, Italy, and Europe.

The new office is conveniently located in the heart of Shanghai’s institutional and business district, home also to the Consulate General of Italy, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, SACE, and ICE (the Italian Trade & Investment Agency). This strategic location further strengthens Gianni & Origoni’s ties with “Sistema Italia” and with institutions in both countries. Designed as a multifunctional space for meetings and networking, the new office will increasingly serve as a point of reference for clients, potential investors, and institutional representatives, fostering dialogue and collaboration between the business and legal communities.

The Shanghai office, closely integrated and in constant dialogue with the Hong Kong office, forms together with the latter the firm’s strategic hub for the Asian region. It is managed by Counsel Vittorio Franzese and benefits from the expertise of Alessandro Zalonis, Partner in charge of Southeast Asia and Head of the China Practice, as well as Ambassador Vincenzo De Luca, who joined Gianni & Origoni last December as Of Counsel to further develop the firm’s activities in Asian and Middle Eastern markets.

Our presence in Shanghai allows us to assist both Italian companies in their investment and growth projects in China, as well as Chinese companies looking to expand their activities in Europe, particularly in Italy,” said Alessandro Zalonis. “The relocation to the new Shanghai office is part of the firm’s broader international expansion strategy and reaffirms our commitment to strengthening dialogue and exchanges between the two countries.”

Gianni & Origoni has long been active in Asian markets through its Hong Kong office, established in 2014 with the goal of consolidating the firm’s presence in a region characterized by a strong entrepreneurial fabric oriented toward investments in Italy and Europe, while also offering significant opportunities for Italian businesses abroad. The office - which has assisted Italian and international clients in numerous cross-border transactions - currently consists of five professionals, including Foreign Partner Davide De Rosa and Counsel Eviana Leung, who joined the firm in March 2025 to strengthen the Hong Kong litigation department.
