Giovanni Marsili specialises in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, as well as corporate governance and company law issues, providing assistance to leading Italian and international companies, both listed and unlisted, and private equity funds. 

Always passionate about good governance and sustainability-linked matters, Giovanni is one of the key partners of our Firm’s ESG Focus Team, created in order to answer to the needs related to the management of ESG factors.

With over 30 years of experience in Italy and abroad, with particular reference to the United States and the United Kingdom, Giovanni is an expert in extraordinary transactions, sale and purchase of shares and businesses (or business units), mergers and acquisitions, LBO transactions, joint ventures, and shareholder agreements. 

Furthermore, Giovanni has significant expertise in the corporate and commercial law fields. 

Giovanni joined our Firm in 1996 and between 2002 and 2004, he spent 3 years serving as a senior associate in our Firm’s New York Office before returning to Milan to become a partner.

Previously, Giovanni was in-house counsel for a leading U.S. multinational group.

He graduated in Law from the University of Milan.

He is a member of the Italian Bar and he is entitled to practice before the Italian Supreme Court (Corte di Cassazione).

He is author of several publications and speaker at national and international conferences and seminars related to M&A and ESG.

He speaks Italian, English and French.
