Milan, March 29, 2019 – International law firm Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli and Partners is pleased to be hosting today a Willem C. Vis Pre-Moot event, in connection with the 26th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition, the GOP Pre-Moot.
The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court is the most prestigious legal competition in the field of arbitration and international trade law. The competition consists of a simulated arbitration process, in which the teams of each university, composed of selected students from almost 300 universities around the world, compete against each other by discussing the assigned case before arbitration panels composed of the most famous and distinguished academics and professionals, who meet every year in Vienna for 25 years: the competition, known throughout the world, is now in its 26th edition.
The GOP Pre-Moot will help Italian teams participating to this year’s edition of the Willem C. Vis Moot Court to prepare for the oral rounds of the competition in Vienna, with the support of experienced and talented practitioners from the Firm as well as scholars acting as arbitrators. The GOP Pre-Moot will provide an excellent opportunity for the participating teams to practice their oral pleadings ahead of the competition in Vienna.
Each team will have the opportunity to plead as Claimant and as Respondent. All teams will be scored and ranked and each team will separately receive the scores of its individual speaker. The top three teams will be announced at a final cocktail event.
