Year 2013: our firm passes a landmark of 25 years from its foundation, a perfect opportunity to reflect on some of our achievements and to consider the tasks ahead.
Back in 1988 we started out as a handful of lawyers sharing a common vision - creating a dynamic international business law firm from scratch. Strong determination and the recruitment of talented professionals have helped create what we are today, a leading player in the Italian and international legal scene.
Quality has always been the hallmark for our firm. It underpins our principles of proud independence, how we manage client relationships and why we spare no effort to anticipate their needs. This emphasis on quality has also been the driver behind our continuous investment in developing new offices in Italy and abroad and in the firm’s policy of attracting top-level experts as well as promising young lawyers, whose skills we support through our training programmes.
New practice areas have been founded and existing areas strengthened by the arrival of leading practitioners and their teams from other firms, drawn by the opportunity to be part of an innovative and responsive law firm, combining the best of traditional values with a modern outlook.
However, self-praise is no recommendation.
The firm’s successes and achievements in 2012 were recognised by being crowned “Law Firm of the Year” at the Chambers Awards for Excellence, “Law Firm of the Year – Italy” by The Lawyer European Awards, and “Best Italian Law Firm 2012” at the Legal Alliance Summit & Awards. For the second consecutive year the firm picked up the “Law Firm of the Year” award from Top Legal, with the firm’s corporate and restructuring lawyers also being named “professionals of the year”.
Whilst a source of pride and satisfaction, these accolades remind us of how we got here: the need to look beyond maintaining standards, and instead to be focused on moving the bar of quality ever higher.
Our 25 year milestone is therefore as much a starting point for the journey onwards as it is a retrospective moment. We hope to continue to be worthy of our clients’ support, loyalty and trust, as important to us today and tomorrow as it has ever been.
