Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners launches Wealth & Trust practice with new arrival Claudio Grego

February 01, 2013

Milan/Rome – The international law firm Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners expands its services to clients and announces the launch of the new Wealth & Trust practice which will be managed by lawyers Cesare Vento and Claudio Grego. Claudio, former Senior Partner and Managing Director of Banca Esperia, will join the firm as Senior Counsel.

This new practice area focuses on supporting the firm’s clients in all legal and tax matters regarding their wealth and asset management. The Department will provide a wide range of tax and legal services to private clients (High and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals) and financial intermediaries (banks, investment management companies and family office) with the aim of supporting them in all matters such as tax and succession planning, cohabitation agreements, internationalization of asset  management, estate and trust administration and family arrangements.

Claudio Grego, 65 years old, joins from Banca Esperia, the private bank founded by Mediobanca, where he was Senior Partner and Managing Director. Within Gruppo Banca Esperia, Claudio was also President of  Duemme Trust Company S.r.l., as well as Duemme Sevizi Fiduciari S.p.A., Duemme Capital Ltd, London and Duemme International (Luxembourg) SA. Previously, he also covered the role of General Secretary of Borsa Italiana (Italian Stock Exchange) and Chief Executive of the Italian branch of Republic National Bank of New York. Other important offices held during his career to date have been within Mediocredito Centrale, Forfex (Trade Development Bank) and IMI Group.

Claudio states, “As the private banking sector has evolved, so have the regulatory aspects and, as a consequence, private clients and financial institutions are demanding for more legal assistance regarding the management of their wealth and assets. With great enthusiasm, I have accepted this opportunity to launch, with the firm, this extremely innovative venture which can draw upon the professional teams and skills of other practice areas such as tax, regulatory and corporate.”

Partner Cesare Vento adds, “I am certain that in combining the firm’s skills with Claudio’s expertise and long-standing career in the private banking sector, the new practice area will be able to offer high-quality advice, with a particular focus on understanding client’s needs.

Senior Partner Francesco Gianni comments, “The evolutions the firm has made throughout the years have always been based on our great sensitivity towards client’s needs. The launch of this new practice area is wholly consistent with this client-centred approach, and it will allow us, with our unique blend of skills and experience, to quickly and efficiently respond to a strongly felt and strongly expressed market need.
